Overview

Located in the bustling heart of Sydney’s Circular Quay, Eat Fuh on Sai Ying Lane offers a fresh and vibrant take on Asian cuisine. This spot brings together a well-curated menu, with standout dishes that capture the essence of classic flavors infused with modern touches. Their Pork Belly Banh Mi is a revelation — the bread strikes a perfect balance, crusty on the outside yet soft and airy inside, complementing the richly flavored pork and the crisp, fresh pickled vegetables. It’s a generous serving that satisfies without overwhelming, making it an ideal choice for lunch or a casual bite.

For those seeking something lighter or plant-based, their vegan Banh Mi offers a surprising depth of flavor. Although the service can feel a bit brisk during busy hours, it is clear the kitchen prioritizes taste and authenticity. The vegan version maintains the sandwich’s trademark vibrancy, with a delicate spiciness that lifts the fresh fillings. However, the addition of mayonnaise on vegan options suggests a minor disconnect in vegan preparation, which could be improved.

The restaurant also shines with other dishes such as lemongrass beef rice paper rolls and pho that boasts a rich, aromatic broth. The pho’s broth is particularly noteworthy, blending traditional spices with a satisfying depth that complements the noodles and fresh herbs perfectly. The portions are modest yet fulfilling, well suited for those exploring Sydney’s dining scene on the go.

Eat Fuh’s location near Circular Quay places it amidst the city’s energetic pulse, catering to locals and tourists alike who crave authentic Asian meals with a contemporary edge. The space itself is functional and inviting, focusing on quick service to keep up with the lunchtime rush. Its appeal lies in delivering solid, flavorful dishes made with fresh ingredients rather than an elaborate dining atmosphere.

In summary, Eat Fuh is a commendable destination for anyone looking to enjoy classic Vietnamese-inspired dishes with a few innovative twists in Sydney’s CBD. Whether you’re a carnivore seeking the perfectly balanced pork belly or a vegan eager to savor a thoughtfully crafted sandwich, this restaurant offers an accessible and satisfying taste of Asian culinary tradition.

Delicious Banh Mi!! I ordered the Pork Belly and it was delicious. The bread was crusty and soft, the salads and pickle were fresh and crunchy, and the pork belly was so nicely flavoured. The serving size was generous, and the cost of the Banh Mi was really good. The negative reviews I read seem to be because the person has ordered a Vegan or Vegetarian noodle meal or Banh Mi. You can’t have Banh mi without the pate!! I’m on holiday in Sydney, so I am sad that I won’t get to eat this again! I’d highly recommend this place for Banh Mi. The rice paper rolls also look delish

Ordered the vegan banh mi. I’m new to Sydney and didn’t really know what it was. Didn’t realise it’s a big sandwich and as I wasn’t that hungry I thought “Christ I’ll never eat all that”. I scoffed the lot. Beautiful bread (crusty outside and soft in the middle) and and the vegan filling while very generous was also very light and delightfully spicy. They’re very busy so so don’t be expecting the usual Sydney service. And if you have any allergies or special dietary requirements, I wouldn’t hold out much hope. I was asked if I wanted mayonaise on my vegan food which is always a little disappointing when a place offers vegan options and then shows that they don’t know actually what vegan means. But that aside, lovely sandwich.

Great pho in CBD! Really nice broth & decent portion. Love the dipping sauce container as it has saté sauce. However you have to eat the pho quickly as they serve the noodles & soup together (not sure if you’re able to request it to be separated). Fast & friendly service.
